| Born in New York in 1836. While a resident of San Francisco in 1857-60, Carl sold books. By 1870 he had moved across the bay to Oakland and was a real estate agent. He died there on Oct. 30, 1912. Exh: Mechanics' Inst. (SF), 1857.
