From the Bay Area of San Francisco, Charlie Castaneda works in collaboration with her girlfriend Brody Reiman to create installations that address domestic issues of comfort and security and women involved in construction activity usually associated with males.
Their sculptural works, precisely and sparsely built, utilize raw materials such as concrete, lumber and insulation to suggest fragments of living places. The structures are often exhibited with canine lawn ornaments that serve as (showing 500 of 2003 characters). |
