| | Born in Monrovia, CA on Jan. 26, 1890. Clare’s father was an important civic leader who established the Monrovia News in 1889. The family also owned La Vista Grande Hotel where Clare had a studio called the Little Gallery. A spinster, she died at the family home on Gold Hill in Monrovia on Dec. 25, 1969. Member: PM of LA.
