| | Born in Maine on Jan. 6, 1909. Cary graduated from Monrovia (CA) High School in 1928 and then worked for three years as a trombonist in a band. During a trip through Mexico in 1931 he had a vision and began painting. The artist's works were "guided by supernatural forces" and signed "Azora." He then worked as an artist for 60 years.
