This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Consuelo Cloos, poet and surrealistic impressionist, was a prolific artist who produced her major artworks in the 1940s and 1950s, many of the Maine coast.
She produced nearly 1000 works in oils, pastels, watercolors and mixed media. After having met Salvador Dali in 1976 in New York, Cloos was invited to exhibit some of her works in his gallery in Spain; a rare occurrence, as Dali was not known for promoting other artists. He described her work as "magnifique."
