| Curtis Chamberlin was brn in Clinton, OH in 1852. Raised on a farm, at age 18 Chamberlin went to Detroit to study art. From 1883 until 1910 he had an art studio in Denver, CO and was active in the local art scene. In 1917 he settled in Laguna Beach and in 1918 was a cofounder of the local art association. He was active there until his demise on Oct. 26, 1925.
