| Born in Chicago, Illinois, she is a painter associated with a 1970s art movement called "Pattern and Decoration," named because its proponents made artwork based on commonplace decorative motifs. Her pieces fitting into this style had squiggles of paint applied through a pastry tube that suggested icing on a cake or frilly lace. Often her pieces had paint applied so thickly they gave the three-dimensional appearance of sculpture. She has also done murals including for the Baltimore, Maryland air (showing 500 of 1251 characters). |
