| Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, David Coolidge settled in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was a member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Club. Between 1966 and 1970, he was Art Director of Ivey Advert, Inc. in Philadelphia.
He studied with John Falter, earned a BFA degree at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa; at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Tyler School of Art in Rome, Italy.
