| The following biography is provided by the artist's son, D. Scott Coolidge:
David Coolidge paints watercolor scenes from Shiloh, Tennessee to Monet's Garden in France to the Cotswolds in England. He is a member of the American Watercolor Society and the Philadelphia Watercolor Club.
Originally from the Midwest, David Coolidge graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and lived in the Philadelphia area for twenty years. Although he attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and studied in Rome, Italy, David cites his apprenticeship with John Falter, noted cover illustrator for the "Saturday Evening Post," as the high point of his art training.
Coolidge has been selected to exhibit at the National Academy of Design in New York, Artists of America in Denver, and the National Art for the Parks where he won recognition at the 1994 exhibition in Jackson, Wyoming, for his painting "Lookout from Little round Top", which received the purchase award from the Gettysburg National Military Park.
