 Edoardo Calandra (1852 - 1911)
Edoardo’s father was a lawyer, and his family originally moved from Murello to Turin Italy. Calandra had interests in archaeology, geology and engineering from which he drew his creative inspiration for portraying historically accurate depictions for both his written and artistic undertakings.
His most notable novels include To The Better End or Overdoing (1890), Discipline (1892), The Storm (1898) and A War (1906). Edoardo began his work as a painter and illustrator following art courses he took at the Albertina in Turin
His brother, Davide Calandra, was a noted sculptor.
