| | Born in New Orleans, LA on Aug. 17, 1879. Chiapella settled in Los Angeles in 1891. He was active in the local art scene from the 1920s. He studied at the Otis Art Institute and with Puthuff, Lauritz, Payne, and Warshawsky. He died in Los Angeles on Jan. 14, 1951. Member: Laguna Beach AA; Calif. Art Club (21st pres.); Calif. Painters & Sculptors of LA (pres., 1941-42).
