 A flower and landscape painter, she uses a palette knife to give flower petals and leaves texture, often set against the backdrop of an architectural detail or landscape. Elizabeth Charleston is a native of San Franciso where she spent most of her life except for several years as a young girl, when she lived in France.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries around the country, as well at the Salon des Femmes Peintres in 1974, and the Salons of the Societe des Artistes Francais and the Nationale des Beaux Arts, Exposition du Tricentenaire in 1973.
Her work is in collections in the United States, Canada, South America, Africa, France, England, Switzerland, and the West Indies.
