| | Born in Oakland, CA on June 17, 1918. Following graduation from Piedmont High School, “Frank” Chaponot studied at the CCAC and Oakland Art Institute. He began his career in 1938 as an apprentice sketch artist at American Can Company. Following service in WWII, he formed a partnership with his brother Norman.
