The following, submitted February 2005, is from John R. Carpenter, descendant of the artist from La Mesa, CA
Francis Bicknell Carpenter, also known as "Frank Carpenter, the Artist", was born on 6 Aug 1830 in Homer, Cortland, NY. He died on 23 May 1900 in the same town and was buried there in Greenwood Cemetery.
His father was Asaph Harmon (or Hammam) Carpenter, born on 28 June 1800 in Pomfret, Windham, CT, and his mother was Almira Clark, born on 26 May 1801. She died on 30 (showing 500 of 1812 characters). |
