Francois Cachoud studied with Delaunay and Gustave Moreau and began exhibiting his distinctive landscapes at the Paris Salon in 1892, continuing to show there regularly until 1940.
He was awarded the gold medal at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937 and was made a knight of the Légion d’Honneur in 1910.
Specializing in moonlit landscapes, examples of his works are in many museum collections including those of Chambéry, Grenoble, Oran, Paris (Musée du Petit Palais) and Philadelphia’s Museum of Art. |

A student of the great Gustave Moreau and Robert Delauny, he competed in the Salon de Paris, 1892 through the 1940's. He also obtained a gold medal at l'Exposition Universelle in Paris. He was the recipient of the Legion d'Honneur in 1910.
Works Held: National Musees Chambery, Oran, and the Petit Palais, Paris; and numerous American Museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art. |
