Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
| Fred A. Cady was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey on Oct. 31, 1885. Cady settled in Los Angeles in 1920. For 33 years he was a swimming-diving coach at University of Southern California. Four of his divers won gold medals in the Olympics. In his leisure he sculpted and painted wharf scenes, desert nocturnes, and cityscapes. He died at Camarillo (CA) State Hospital on August 21, 1960.
Exhibited: Businessmen's Art Club (Los Angeles), 1931.
