| Born in Elgin, Illinois on Nov. 17, 1881, George Coleman studied at the
Art Institute of Chicago. In 1919 he moved to southern California and settled in Balboa Beach. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Orange, CA on July 25, 1939.
He was the brother of artist Roi Clarkson Colman. His rare works include landscapes and coastal scenes.
