| A painter, writer, and physician, George Caldwell moved to Southern California in 1906, after getting his medical education at the University of Colorado, University of Denver, and in Europe at London and Vienna.
As a resident of Hollywood, he exhibited his paintings locally but also traveled worldwide and wrote several books about Indians. He was a member of the California Art Club.
