Born in Jeffersonville, Indiana in October 1892, Georgia Leigh Caldwell exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1923 and 1927.
In 1932, Georgia Leigh Caldwell attended the little known yet very important Stone City Art Colony and School in a small community nestled in Iowa. This artist colony was started and led by Grant Wood and other greats from all around.
Georgia Leigh Caldwell became best known as an impressionist landscape painter. She remained a long-term resident of Illinois and died at the early age of 43 in Oak Park (Chicago area) during January of 1936.
