| Harold Harper Capers was born on April 4, 1899. In 1902 he
lived in Brooklyn, New York. Later, in 1929, he lived in Chicago,
Illinois where he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He
studied under F. Tadema, J. Allen St. John, and Wellington Reynolds.
Capers became a commercial artist, using his watercolor skills to
provide illustrations for magazines and various advertising art venues.
Capers was a member of the Artist’s Guild of the Artist’s League in
NYC. He was also a member of the NY Society of Illustrators and
Writers, the California Watercolor Society, and in the 1940’s to the
early 1950’s, a member of the prestigious Carmel Art Association.
Harold Harper Capers died in Walnut Creek, California on August 29, 1983.
