| | Born in California in 1883. Coffman began his art career with the San Francisco Post in 1898. He then worked in Los Angeles on the Herald and Times until 1906 when he went to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He later worked in New York as a cartoonist for the Hearst papers. His last years were spent in Fort Worth, TX where he worked for the Star Telegram.
