This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born on Aug. 18, 1886 in Tucson, AZ. One of the founders of Mount St Mary's College in Los Angeles in 1924, Sister Ignatia was a teacher at that school for nearly 40 years. She remained there except when she studied at the CCAC where she earned a master's degree and three months of travel and study in Europe. A fire at the school in 1961 destroyed most of her early work. Primarily a watercolorist, she also worked in oil, casein, and charcoal. She died at Mount St Mary's on May 14, 1986. Exh: Five Arts Gallery (LA), 1979 (solo).
