Biography from Sullivan Goss - An American Gallery (Artists R-Z):
| Harry Carmean was born in 1922 in Anthony, Kansas. He studied with Jean Abel at Glendale College in California, at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in France, and at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena where he studied under Lorser Feitelson. He taught painting and drawing at the Art Center from 1941 to 1996.
