This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Berkeley, CA on March 18, 1912. Clement studied art with Oldfield, Stackpole, Labaudt, and Albright at the CSFA. While at that school she was awarded the Anne Bremer Memorial Scholarship. In 1934 she assisted Gordon Langdon in painting a mural in Coit Tower and modeled for several of the figures painted in the tower by other muralists. During the WWII years she served as art critic for the Oakland Tribune, and in 1948 married James Kemble Mills. She died in Walnut Creek, CA on March 6, 1997. Oakland Art Gallery, 1931; SFMA, 1937; SFAA, 1940.
