| J. Francis Chase was born in Nebraska, and lived and worked in Chicago for most of his life. He was born somewhere about 1905 and died in the late 1980s. He worked mostly in watercolor, but also experimented with other media throughout his life. Most of his work was as a commercial artist, for Coco Cola and others, in addition to magazines. He also did the Talman Savings and Loan calender for many decades.
