This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following is from the artist:

James Cordasco was born in Newark, New Jersey, and as a youngster he was a member of The Newark Junior Museum where he was introduced to fine arts, which inspired him to start painting at age 14. He is a graduate of The Institute of Design and Construction, Brooklyn, NY, architectural school, where his creative and artistic talent blossomed. He is a licensed architect, licensed professional planner, and artist. He was also an adjunct university instructor at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ. Becoming an architect in 1966 he painted occasionally, while devoting most of his time to his architectural practice. After retiring in 1998, he devoted all of his time to painting.

As an artist, he has found special inspiration in the natural beauty around the areas of his homes in Sarasota, Florida and Harvey Cedars, Long Beach Island, New Jersey. He has also painted in his travels abroad to Greece, Italy, France and England. As an impressionist painter, his paintings show feeling and inspiration that suggests a regions distinctive character and sense of place.
