This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Jesse Corsaut was born in Kansas in 1929.  Corsaut had a one-man show in Topeka at age 14.  He later studied at the Art Student League and Columbia University.  Realistically depicted, the artist has painted nudes and still lifes and created bronze sculptures.  His bronze of John Wayne stood in the White House during the Reagan presidency and in 1993 he was commissioned to create the Presidential Medallion for President Clinton.  His John Steinbeck bronze graces the entrance to Cannery Row in Monterey and a full-size bronze of Ignacy Jan Paderewski is on the University of Southern California campus.  He is currently a resident of Pacific Grove, CA.
