John H. Crosman specialized in illustrations in prominent magazines such as McCall's and the Saturday Evening Post during the late 20's, 30's and 40's. At that point, he mostly transformed his work into oil portraits and still lifes. His Beach Plumb paintings remain some his very best work! During World War II he often did pastel portraits of service men and women and presented them to their families. Crosman was born on or about 1898, and made his ho (showing 500 of 1428 characters). |
