John P. Cowan (b. 1920)
Born in Bristol, Tennessee, John Cowan studied art at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn New York, working under Norman Rockwell.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Cowan’s favorite subjects are quail hunting and redfish fishing. All classic Cowan scenes are instantly recognizable as authentic and accurate representations by sportsmen who have waded the flats and hunted the brush.
