| | Born in Mexico in 1888. Crespo studied in Vienna at the Imperial Academy of Fine Art and later worked in Cuba where he was founder and secretary of Havana Ass'n of Painters & Sculptors (1914-17). During 1921-25 he lived in Mexico City where he was an assistant to Best Maugard in the public schools and was a member of the Mexican Diplomatic Service. Upon moving to Los Angeles in 1927, he taught at Chouinard Art School through 1933.
