| Joseph S. Cleary was born in Long Beach, CA in 1926. Cleary studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts, Mills College, and San Francisco State College. During the 1950s he taught at the California College of Arts and Crafts. His illustrations have appeared in Saturday Evening Post and other national magazines.
