Raised on a farm in Greenville, Ohio, and encouraged in his art talent by his father, Lee became a noted wildlife painter, residing in Divide, Colorado.
He was raised with a love of the great outdoors and with many experiences of fishing and hunting with his dad and watching wildlife. His formal art training started at age nine when he began a nine-year tutelage, "Famous Artists Commercial Correspondence Course," under Martin Wogoman of Greenville, Ohio.
