Biography from Corrigan Gallery LLC:
Charleston native Lese Corrigan does artwork that is both representational and expressionistic.   Her oil paintings are full of color and the joyful playfulness of life; surfaces imbued with light – color and texture being the defining structure.

Corrigan fully immersed herself in the visual arts in the late 1980s, working her way through the different opportunities in the art community.  Corrigan also works in other media such as linocuts, photography and clay sculpture.

The Coca Cola Company commissioned one of her paintings, which was presented to Barbara Bush in 1995.  She was poster artist for the Charleston Cup Steeplechase 2003 and featured in the Fall 2003 issue of the international Orient Express Magazine.

Corrigan with her painting debuted on Turner South Network’s 3 Day Weekend Charleston’s episode that premiered in 2005, and she was the Gibbes Museum Poets' and Painters’ program artist in residence for 2005.  She painted the image for the poster for the Queen City Classic Horse Show in Charlotte, North Carolina for 2006. In 2006 Ros Smith created a five minute film documentary entitled "Curlesque" on Corrigan's painting process.

Corrigan's work was selected for the Medical University of South Carolina's contemporary collection for the new 2008 Ashley River Tower.  She is the president for 2009 of the CFADA - Charleston Fine Art Dealers' Association.

Biography from The Verner Gallery:
Born and raised in Charleston, Lese Corrigan has immersed herself in the visual arts from the time she was a young girl.  Teaching art, serving on the board of several arts organizations, writing art reviews and managing galleries has allowed her to see the art world from all sides.  Corrigan is now taking all of her observations and putting the energy into her artwork.

Primarily an oil painter, Corrigan does work in several other media including photography and clay sculpture.  Her work is both representational and expressionistic.  She intends for her oil paintings to be full of color and joyful playfulness of life.  Painting "en plein air" permits the observation of the light's dance across the landscape and architecture and allows the spirit to soar in celebration of nature's beauty.

Corrigan has paintings in collections throughout the southeast, in France and Great Britain including a painting commissioned by the Coca Cola Corporation and presented to Former First Lady Barbara Bush.
