| Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 19, 1887, Louise Cadwalader began her
art studies at the Cincinnati Art Academy and continued at the Art
Students Leauge in New York City under Frank Carlson and William
Merritt Chase.
By the late 1920s she had moved to California. While living in
Berkeley she studied at the Schaeffer School of Design. By 1940
she had settled in Laguna Beach where she further studied with John
Hubbard Rich and William Cahill.
She died in Laguna Beach, California on June 24, 1968.
Memberships included the Laguna Beach Art Association and the San Francisco Women Artists
