|  Born in Tidioute, PA on Aug. 10, 1886. Mabel married John Carruthers in 1919. After settling in Pasadena in 1925, she studied with Orrin White for many years and often accompanied Marion Kavanagh Wachtel on painting forays. Her large-size landscapes often contain sycamore trees. The artist lived in Pasadena until shortly before her death in Gloucester, ME on June 30, 1972. | Source:
