| | Born in Italy on Jan. 16, 1890. Cavalla settled in Los Angeles in the early 1920s and found work in a bakery as a cake decorator. It was from this that he developed his simple design and patterns typical of his paintings. He resided on Bunker Hill where he could often be seen on the front porch at his easel painting the quaint Victorian homes on the Hill. He died there on Sept. 25, 1966.
