Margaret Ann Scruggs-Carruth was an etcher, teacher, illustrator, writer, lecturer, craftsperson, block printer, designer, and drawing specialist.

She was born in Dallas, Texas on February 18, 1892, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gross R. Scruggs. She was a direct descendent of Mary Todd Lincoln, and her maternal great-uncle, Sam Woodson Price, was a noted portrait painter in Kentucky. Her paternal great-aunt, Anna Dial Hearne, was a portrai (showing 500 of 4322 characters).
