| "Melesio Casas was born in El Paso, Texas, in 1929. He attended
the public school system and graduated from Texas Western College with
a bachelor’s degree in arts in 1956. Later, Casas graduated with
a master’s degree in arts in 1958 from the University of the Americas
in Mexico City. Casas is presently teaching in the Department of
Art at San Antonio College. Casas says when describing his art, “I'm
dealing with the power of the cinema, the power of advertising, as in
