Meriva M. Carpenter was born 28 April 1802 in Ellington, Tolland County, Connecticut, a daughter of Dr. Ruggles and Juliana (Pierce) Carpenter. She married a cousin, Eli Carpenter, who was born in 1794 in Oxford, Grafton Co. New Hampshire, and they settled near the town of Homer, Cortland County, New York in an area that came to be called Carpenterville, now East River. (showing 500 of 1951 characters). |
