| A student of Fred Berger at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and Richard Lack in Minneapolis, Michael Chelich has received many portrait commissions. He also does narrative figure painting, still lifes, and landscapes, and his style hearkens back to the 16th and 17th century Dutch and Flemish painters.
He pursued art study in European museums with a grant from the Stacey Lee Foundation. He is a full-time artist and teacher at the School of Representational Art in Chicago, and is a member of The American Society of Classical Realism. |
