Known for her paintings of Colorado mining towns and mountain scenes, Myrtle Campbell was born and raised in Columbus, Nebraska. In 1910, she earned a degree from the teacher training division of the Art Institute of Chicago and then went to Escanaba, Michigan, where she became an art supervisor in the schools.
In 1915, she married Walter Campbell, and the couple lived in Decatur, Illinois, until 1918, and then from 1920 in Pratt, Kansas, where she taught school and started a family. In 1 (showing 500 of 2483 characters). |
