A native Philadelphian and a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art, Ralph Coleman was a famed illustrator and painter. His first illustration appeared in The Saturday Evening Post in 1915. He went on to illustrate many more magazines and books.
In 1942, he painted The Eternal Christ, a haunting picture of Christ on the battlefield. This painting became so popular that several million copies were distributed to civilians and soldiers during the Second (showing 500 of 920 characters). |
