| Randolph Lasalle Coats (1891-1957) was born in Richmond, Indiana and by 1917 was considered a professional painter by the leading artists in the state. He studied at Herron School of Art in Indianapolis with William Forsyth, one of the Hoosier Group, in 1908 -1909, 1911, 1913 -1915. He also studied at the Cincinnati Academy of Fine Arts under Frank Duveneck (1848 - 1919) and James R. Hopkins (1877 - 1969), where he taught for four years. He also taught at the Herron School of A (showing 500 of 3598 characters). |
