After a serious accident which took the life of her partner, Rani Carson began searching for new meaning in her life. She was moved and intrigued by the Rastifarian people during a trip to Jamaica. And after a subsequent trip began adopting many of the beliefs of the religion. Carson paints colorful images of Rastifarian people and the lush surrounding in Jamaica. Her respect and love of the culture are evident in her work.
