| Renato Capocelli was born in Rome, Italy on June 15, 1886. Moving to San Francisco shortly after the turn of the century, Capocelli was an attorney and a competent, self-taught painter. In 1914 he wed Leonide Martinon and in that year had his portrait painted by Theodore Wores. Capocelli died in San Francisco on Aug. 27, 1953.
