A sculptor and model maker, Rene Chambellan studied at New York University between 1912 and 1914 and from 1914 to 1917, was at the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design. In 1918, he went to Paris, and studied at the Academie Julian. He was also a student of Solon Borglum, and collaborated with him on a dedication panel at Pershing Stadium in Vincennes, France.
His New York City work includes architectural ornamentation at Rockefeller Center under the marquee above the entrance (showing 500 of 1331 characters). |
