Robert Emmett Costelloe (1943-1974)
He was a Dublin-born painter, sculptor and art teacher. After studying at the National College of Art he moved to London then Rome to study art, with a special interest in ceramics. Upon returning to Dublin one of his first commissions was for a poured concrete sculpture at Lansdowne House. In 1968 he won the Carrolls Prize for painting and in the same year began exhibiting with the Hendriks Gallery. Costelloe moved to North America in 1970, teaching at the (showing 500 of 838 characters). |
