He was born September 21, 1850 in Seekonk Massachusetts and married 1878 in Swansea Mass. He was an employer in a shoe store. In 1881 began his career as a painter, principally in watercolor. His art studio was in Providence, Rhode Island. He had no children.
Samuel Roscoe Chaffee died April 1 ,1913.
