| Born in Kulpmont, Pennsylvania, Samuel Clayberger served in World War II and then settled in southern California where he became an animater in the film industry and a fine art painter. He studied in Los Angeles at the Chouinard Art Institute and the Jepson Art Institute and teachers were Tom Craig, Don Graham, Rico Lebrun, and Richard Haines.
As a fine artist, he was known for figurative subjects in landscape and was active in the California Water Color Society.
