| | Born in Missouri on Feb. 22, 1864. Sarah was raised on a farm in Kansas and migrated to Los Angeles in a prairie schooner at age ten. She was educated at USC and studied art in Laguna Beach with Anna Hills. Married twice, after the death of William King, she wed Reverend John H. Cooper in 1903. In 1926 she settled in the Hemet Valley in the small town of Winchester and lived there until her death on Nov. 18, 1943. Her works include landscapes of Yosemite and the area around Winchester.
